9:00-12:30 Workshop on the New Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6)
The IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority- www.iana.org ) has allocated the last IP address blocks from the global IPv4 central address pool, ending all debates over when this would happen. Several months remain before Regional Registries consume all their remaining regional IPv4 address pools, with recent trends suggesting that Asia, Europe, and North America will exhaust in that order within a month or two on either side of July 1, 2011.
The challenges that lie ahead are significant and raise a number of critical questions. For example is the entire Internet community aware of this? Are they getting ready for it? Should the users be involved? What stakes are involved? Is Asia ahead of Europe and the US? What needs to be done? What is the easiest way? Who is doing what? Why is the US not taking leadership? What ROI does industry need to justify the migration?
With a seemingly endless list of questions and answers only leading to more questions, the opinions and proposed solutions are often diverse and complex. In order to address the multiple challenges that lie ahead, the panel has invited leading experts on IPv6 to share with us what they perceive as best practice, the way forward and opinions on what is the first major upgrade of the Internet.

9:00 - 12:30 Workshop on Digital Government 2020 (e-Government services)
For a number of years the provision of online services by government entities has been debated with particular aspects being emphasized such as business processes, e-democracy, the role of ICT as an enabler and governance etc. Today as a result of the many initiatives taking place worldwide and in particular as a result of actions initiated by the European Commission and some Member States, an important aspect of e-government has been brought to the limelight. That is the extent to which the Internet, as an enabling technology can assist in promoting the quality, accessibility, credibility and usefulness of on-line services offered by public authorities.
The ceFIMS (Coordination of the European Future Internet for Member States) project is entrusted with the task to design an EU-wide Roadmap for the 27 member States in the ceFIMS working groups with focus on following enablers:
- Cloud Computing
- Trust and Security
- Real-world Internet (Internet-of-Things, SmatGrids,..)
- Infrastructure of the Future Internet (Broadband Access)
- Digital Government (EU-wide e-ID, e-Voting, Safety, EU-citizens mobility,..)
The Future Internet Forum for Member States stakeholders will participate in this forum session. The chairs of the ceFIMS WGs and experts speakers will be invited to address above listed technology enablers and their challenges and issues.
